Background Information:

Nicola is a Mental Health Nurse, Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Person-Centred Counsellor. She worked for Relate as a couples counsellor and psychosexual therapist, has trained at Tavistock Relationships in Mentalisation-Based Treatment for couples, and has achieved an introductory qualification in Systemic Family Therapy.

Nicola has worked as a specialist and highly specialist practitioner in NHS inpatient, day patient, outpatient, and community mental health services including eating disorders and personality disorders for over 20 years.

She works in a culturally competent way with clients whose first language was not English (asylum seekers, economic migrants), and in inner-city and rural settings with clients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Nicola works as a lecturer on the national CBT for Eating Disorders programme at the University of Sheffield and on the CBT for Long-Term Conditions and Medically Unexplained Symptoms at Teesside University.
