About Dr Luz Locatelli Dalimier

Luz is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist completing her doctorate in Sport Sciences at the University of Granada, Spain and she also has a bachelor in Psychology and Psychotherapy training in Argentina. Luz is a member of the following organisations: British Psychological Society (BPS) registered as Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) and an Accredited Membership of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

 

Luz has received additional training in EMDR, ACT, CAT, CBT, DBT and Systemic family therapy. Luz has significant experience working in with outpatients and inpatients who are struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, mood difficulties and sport performance, transition to professionalism or sport injuries rehabilitation.

 

She also works with complex PTSD and complex trauma in adults and young people. Luz is experienced in CBT, ACT and CAT but is integrative in her treatment approach and has strong experience working with high performance sport teams and athletes, adults and young people in three different countries (Argentina, Spain and England). She was also awarded by the school of Sport Medicine in Oviedo, Spain for her research in Chrono biology and stress management in athletes 'National Award Asturias Princess'. She was a Wellbeing and Counselling Leader at Leeds City College until September 2020 and since March 2019 an Associate Counsellor at Insight Therapy Centre.
